“If last year focused on natural texture and no-fuss hairstyles, 2021 is gearing up to be all that and then some. Ringing in a new year calls for fresh starts of all kinds, making it the perfect time for

to guide us straight to the salon.

We’re taking last year’s low-maintenance styling up a notch with statement-making cuts that do all the work and call back to decades past—only the fashionable ones, of course. If you’ve been wanting to make a chop, there are

, blunt fringe, and retro styles just waiting to be shorn. (We’re talking modern updates on vintage bobs, bangs, and long cuts, too.)

Here are the trendy haircuts you’ll be seeing everywhere this year.!”

Wigs for Kids Mission

Helping Children Look Themselves and Live Their Lives!

The various causes of hair loss in children don’t result in just physical suffering. The change in their appearance can drastically undermine their self-image and sabotage their self-esteem. To help heal the pain of these struggles, Certified Cosmetic Therapist Jeffrey Paul founded Wigs for Kids, a non-profit hair donation organization that has been serving children suffering from hair loss since 1981.

Wigs for Kids is a cooperative effort among Certified Cosmetic Therapists throughout North America who share a common goal. “Children shouldn’t have to worry about how they look, especially when they’re in the middle of a health crisis,” says Jeffrey Paul. “We want to give these kids the opportunity to feel good about themselves again.”

The value of the Hair Replacement Systems Wigs for Kids provides is approximately $1,800. “These are custom-made Hair Replacements,” says Jeffrey Paul. “Each prosthesis is hand-tied and is made completely from human hair. We make sure they look just like a child’s own hair.”

“They won’t come off on the baseball field or in the playground,” he adds. “Kids can count on them. And because kids look just the way they did before, they feel better about themselves. They look in the mirror and their eyes light up. To see that light in their eyes – that’s priceless.”

Wigs for Kids Donation Information

Wigs for Kids depends on monetary and hair donations from generous individuals. The process for creating wigs made from real hair is costly and time-consuming. Wigs for Kids never charges the families that are receiving these custom Hair Replacement Systems. Ready to make a hair donation for kids? Find instructions here. Visit our Financial Donations page to make a monetary contribution.

Are you ready to make a hair donation for kids? Start by following the 3 simple steps below. Then fill out your donation form.

1. Start Your Donation with Hair Length

If you’re interested in donating your hair to kids in need, your first step is to set a length goal. While we accept hair donations of 12 inches or longer, we encourage you to donate 14+ inches of hair; the more length you can donate, the more of an impact you will make.

2. Get in Contact with a Hair Professional

We rely on talented hair professionals to properly cut the hair ponytails and braids that are then donated to Wigs for Kids. The professional you contact must follow these steps for cutting and donating your hair or ponytail.

If you are donating at a Great Clips salon, please contact the salon directly to confirm participation.

3. Send in Your Hair Donation

Place the dry ponytail in a sealed ziplock bag and then inside a sealed envelope addressed to:

Wigs for Kids — Hair Donations
24231 Center Ridge Road
Westlake, Ohio 44145

BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR HAIR DONOR FORM, BARCODE OR ID NUMBER IN THE ENVELOPE. DONATIONS WITHOUT A HAIR DONOR FORM, BARCODE OR ID NUMBER ARE UNDERSTOOD TO BE ANONYMOUS DONATIONS.

Please consider adding a small financial donation in with your hair to help Wigs For Kids with hair processing and/or helping to offset the $1800 cost of the hair replacement system.

Hair Only Donation Form

If you use our online hair donation form and include a print out of your barcode with the donation, you can expect a thank you within 60 days of Wigs For Kids receiving your ponytail. If you fill out a paper form without a barcode, you can expect a thank you within 4-6 months of Wigs For Kids receiving your hair.  We truly appreciate your donation and will do our best to send a thank you as quickly as we can.
